What’s your opinion on the Massachusetts Senate Democratic Primary?

Senator Ed Markey is currently 79 years old and has been in congress since Nixon was president. He’s a progressive, championing environmental protection, climate action, and consumer rights. He also co-authored the Green New Deal. He’s never took AIPAC money but has taken J-Street money. He’s being endorsed by everyone in Massachusetts politics. The best way I can describe him is a blue collar Bostonian grandpa who with a dry sense of humor and still has a surprising amount of energy.

Like most people his age, he should’ve passed the torch but refuses to step down and endorse another progressive.

Representative Seth Moulton of MA-6 is challenging Markey for his seat. Moulton is a marine veteran who’s 47 years old. He’s an overall moderate who ranges from Center Left economically to being center-right socially. He promised to return his donation money from AIPAC. The best way I can describe his is image having to read on a teleprompter even when speaking one-on-one. I am very bias since I’m from his district and I find people like him to be a slimy opportunist like Newsom and Crockett.

Do you agree that Centrist is a subjective term?

I think there’s only two sides of the political spectrum. The Left and the Right. People who don’t agree on everything on the side but they generally group themselves in them whether they admit it or not. Centrists is a made up term so they can sound intelligent or don’t want to rock the boat when it comes to discussing their political views.

If someone says “I’m a centrist, but I don’t agree with abortion” then you group with the Republicans.

If someone says “I’m a centrist, but we need medicare for all.” Then you group with the Democrats. (Even though a large portion of elected Democrats think the system is fine as is)

Onion patty in my burger

I chucked the onion in the trash but I’ve never seen anyone serve a whole onion like this before. Fantastic burger but damn.

As a progressive, I love Robert Reich’s philosophy of promoting an activist government that combats wealth inequality through progressive taxation. This includes robust investment in education, infrastructure, and worker protection.

The only Democratic viable seat in the region is Nebraska - 2 because it comprises most of Omaha.

The rest is farming areas where having a (D) next to the candidate’s name is a death sentence for a campaign. We always have Dan Osborn (NE) and Seth Bodnar (MT) running as independents in their senate races. I think if we wanted to loosen Republican power, it would be better for the Democrats to divert their resources to other closer races and get people elected who are more willing to play ball than Republicans.
