Can you over-pot when using semi-hydro?
As in can I use a bit oversized of a pot when using semi-hydro? I am switching completely to pon (or more of a pon-like mix), and most of my plants are roughly the same size so I've mainly bought 5" and 7" self-watering pots. But whenever I get new plants, I usually get the smallest rooted plants possible and just grow it bigger, so usually 2"-4" max. Can I just use my 5" pots for them as long as the roots are deep enough?
In my head, the issue with over-potting with soil is that the medium doesn't dry fast enough, so the roots rot. But in semi-hydro, there's no wet-dry cycle and the roots don't really rot, right? So as long as it isn't way too big of a pot where the roots are only touching dry pon on the top, it should be fine, right?
