The giant Barosaurus of the ROM museum

I visited the ROM museum in Toronto, Canada, to see the dinosaur exhibit. The star of the show is the Barosaurus, which is one of the rarest and largest dinosaurs ever found. This is one of only five known in the world and the second most complete skeleton.

The story of this Dinosaur is interesting it was lost or forgotten for 40 years inside the museum backdoors , in the beginning they thought its a Supersaurus but then … for any one interested to see the full story I recommend ( Inside The ROM, Toronto | Museum Secrets 1/22 | Crime Scene TV ) on YouTube

I Also add some more shots for some other dinosaurs.

The majestic coins of Memphis: Alexander the Great

One important coin to add to my collection is the Memphis tetradrachm. I had been tracking one for the past five months and had already lost four times in auctions and thankfully won one at last .

In my opinion, the Memphis tetradrachms is the most prestigious and artistic of all Alexander tetradrachms. These early issues, struck on the Attic standard, display an almost sculptural artistry, with high relief and a powerful Hellenistic style.
My example is certainly far from perfect, yet in hand it is absolutely mesmerizing. The Herakles portrait is Artistically aligned, which makes it one of the finest portraits I have seen in the entire Alexander series. The bold relief and majestic style elevate these Memphis issues into something truly special within the Alexandrine coinage.

According to the Pella database, the mint was located in Memphis, approximately 4 km from Saqqara, the necropolis of the ancient Egyptian capital. Three recorded hoards were discovered in Abu Hummus and Damanhur, both located roughly 40 km from Alexandria, as well as in Qift, around 55 km from Luxor. These are the same hoards in which tetradrachms bearing the ram mint mark (Amun-Ra) were found.

In the past, these two mint marks were believed to belong to lifetime issues of Alexander the Great. However, more recent studies lean toward attributing them to the early coinage of Ptolemy I as satrap. After Ptolemy removed Kleomenes, the caretaker of Egypt on behalf of Alexander, he reportedly recoined the 8,000 talents from the treasury into new coinage, of which this tetradrachm is believed to be one example.

I have only received these two photos so far, and unfortunately the quality is quite poor. At this stage, I am unable to determine whether the piece is authentic, but I will reserve judgment until I have the opportunity to examine it in hand. For the time being, I would appreciate your assistance with the attribution.
