Getting smoked
I’m getting killed in purgatories, and as much as I love NG4 I fucking hate purgatory. There’s so much going on, the camera angle with the warning indicator (for the special parry) just seems such a luck of the draw if I’ll blindly get off or not. I’m on normal and while I’m no master ninja, I’ve spent adequate time in training learning a handful of moves offensive and defensive to the point I haven’t really struggled throughout the game…except in these fucking things.
If I can’t do it within a try or two with only a few heals I usually just give up and keep on going. Currently chapter 8. Anyone have any tips? Are you guys just breezing through these? Why did they make them so exhausting? Why would I want to have to replay them over and over to learn whatever quirks and strategy on normal? I honestly devolve to some sort of button masher after a few minutes because I can’t nail the parry fatal finishers with enough consistency to try, the special parrys I’m almost almost blind to and I’m trying to balance offensive crowd work at the same time. I know they’re optional but wtf!??
