I don’t believe Cursed Rika and Rika Orimoto are the same personality/behavior wise.

I just wanted to talk about our perception of Rika now  that this new AU trend is happening.

I think a lot of people agree that Rika is some sort of Psycho because of the expansion into her backstory, mostly because it seems pretty straight forward: Her mom died, her dad is probably dead, she manipulates people and her grandma thinks she killed her father,(I personally think that was a red herring), so she killed them right? I don't think so, accounting for the fact that she was like 5 when that happened and left behind zero evidence as well, I think curses might have done her family in, but we don’t have any evidence of that. I feel as though most of the reason the fanbase says she's a killer is because of how she acted when she was cursed/dead, but the text states that her personality changed when she died, saying that,

”When she was human, Rika was very friendly with Yuta's
younger sister. However, after becoming a vengeful curse,
she became aggressive, which is why Yuta distanced himself
from his family”.

She went from a child who was a bit anti-social, was in love with her childhood sweetheart, and manipulative to adults, (lets be fr we were all a little manipulative as kids) and turned into an aggressive ghost who was hell bent on protecting the boy she loved and ripping people apart.

This is also backed up when we learn at the end of JJK 0 that Yuta actually cursed Rika and not the other way around, when you think of someone being cursed after death usually the spirit is corrupted by it in some sort of way right? This can also be seen in how she acts moments later when she's passing on. Why would a truly psychotic soul who only “lives” to protect her only loved one left in this world be so content with leaving them behind and going to the afterlife?

Don’t you think something more along the lines of, “No I don’t wanna go!!” followed by some sort of child-like tantrum would be a better fit? Unless she really wasn't a murderous psycho after all, maybe just a very strange child whose parents were killed by curses or some shit.

She did also say that she enjoyed her time with Yuta but I think that could be interpreted as her being happy she got to spend more time with him because of her fucked up life, and less of “I loved killing those people for you btw”.

In other words my goat, AU Rika Orimoto would not be an insane and evil person. Maybe just a Busted sorcerer with social issues who may or may not have killed her parents.

I've also heard about that one SA theory but I don’t think Gege was going in that direction even though that theory did have a few good points.

Feel free to leave your thoughts about mine below, thx for reading!
