KINDNESS IS FREE, AND IT DOESN'T COST MUCH. SINCE WE ARE ALL MONEY SLAVES, WHY ACT AS MASTERS?
I want to raise concerns about how employees treat applicants in BPO companies in Bicol. Is it acceptable for them to be harsh and call applicants stupid? When I applied at a certain BPO company in Bicol, I was speechless to hear some employees calling applicants stupid based on their assessment answers and inability to follow instructions. How can applicants follow directions when the employees are just gossiping? I verily remembered her saying, "Ang simple lang. ang BOBO." My friend and I exchanged a glance, knowing that if the employees are toxic, the work environment must be even worse.
The hiring process took several hours because the employees who were supposed to assist applicants weren't actively monitoring each candidate's scores. Instead, they spent the time gossiping and trashing other BPO companies. Additionally, one of the applicants was a former co-worker of the employees, and they helped her pass the assessments while we were taking ours. Doesn’t that seem biased?
I know this is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what you will actually receive once you take the call and hear from others in different countries. But come on, let's strive to create a healthy work environment and treat each other with respect so that every employee feels valued.
P.S.: Please, just please. People, be kind. I know some may read this, and I want to encourage everyone that it does not cost much to be kind. We all have our own struggles, but so does everyone else. You may not realize how your words and non-verbal cues can affect others. Let’s take care of each other’s mental health. This effort can help lighten the burden we all face in today’s economy.
