You should watch Traitors Quebec S1 and Traitors India S1

Having exhausted the English speaking versions of the Traitors, I decided to check out these two seasons, and would like to highlight them for other Traitors fans. As well as sharing some thoughts in spoilers. Both are easy to find on streaming services using a VPN.

India Season 1

This is a really entertaining season. The production values are high (it also features the score from the US/UK versions) and host Karan is great. The venue, a grand palace is really amazing and a nice change from other Traitors settings. There's quite a bit of English used but you will need subtitles on as they slip between languages all the time. Hilariously in the version I watched, the subtitles censored the English swear words, it's pretty funny to hear someone say '**** you!' and the subtitles are like: 'I don't like you!'.

What makes this season so fun is the big personalities, it's a season full of celebs from actors to reality stars, and they make for a lot of funny moments and conflict, though there is some fun gameplay as well. I'd compare it a bit to US traitors where its a wild ride that's a lot of fun to watch.

India S1 spoilers:

>!I really liked the traitors in this season. Elnaaz's playing dumb was so fun to watch especially as she started to get suspicion, and Parav's slow descent into internal conflict was interesting. Of course the way the traitors get caught at the end was also pretty wild! And remember the murder in plain sight with the epic fountain throw! !<

>!The big characters were so entertaining with their conflicts, Apoorva, Uorfi and Sufi were really funny and provided never-ending one-liners and mayhem. Who can forget Ashish spending half his time sleeping :P!<

Quebec (Les Traitres) Season 1

I'd had recommendations on this subreddit about Quebec in general so decided to start at season 1, and it is a great season. It has long episodes that give plenty of time to conversations and player thought processes. The players are all civilian and there's a great mix. Some serious game players who have a lot of strategy, and some real agents of chaos who make for wildly entertaining scenes throughout the season.

There are a lot of good arcs in this season and it's a great watch from start to end. The editing seems better than Canada for some reason (even though I assume its the same production company), with my only complaint being the roundtable votes feeling a bit less dramatic than they could have due to the music/editing choices. Other than that though they do a really good job of giving you a good impression of most players thoughts.

Finally each episode (at least in the version I watched) ends with an 'Uncloaked UK' style interview with eliminated players. It's really good, host Karine asks exactly the kind of questions you want to know and you get the reactions to players seeing the traitors identities as well. There is a reunion episode at the end of the season that's really good as well, where all the questions really give good insight into the player's tactics and asking tough questions. This season is definitely up there in my upper tier of Traitors seasons now, and everyone says Quebec 2 is even better so I can't wait to get started on that.

Quebec 1 spoilers:

>!First of all Meriem, what an absolute goldmine of a player for drama. Out of all the seasons I have seen, she is probably the most disruptive that lasted the longest, she's the Kate Chastain but even wilder. What makes her so entertaining and fascinating to watch is quite a lot of the time her intuition is spot on yet her incredibly agressive nature turns everyone off. !<

>!Then we have traitor Axel who seems to go on some sort of wild journey of self discovery and emotional turmoil throughout the game, he's such an interesting character. Michel who is an actual spy hunter and uses controversial tactics, which makes for really interesting discussion in the post-interviews and reunion, I love how the show dealt with it without actually casting blame on him for his moves.!<

>!And of course there is Etienne who plays a really unique game that hardly any players usually get away with in this show. Where he brings the 'real' strategy of the format to the forefront (which thankfully the editors don't hide from us), rides a tightrope of suspicion to the end, confronts people with questions everyone else is afraid to ask, and is geniuinely interested in the game itself and the strategy element. He reminds me a lot of Mark from New Zealand 2. What a great character, who even in the reunion acknowledges he knew he was very unlikely to win but was just enjoying exploring the strategies of the game and social experiment and seeing how it would play out. Tons more I could talk about in this season but these players really made it shine for me. !<

Anyway, do check out these seasons if you fancy dipping your toes into non-English season, I'm really glad I did!
