I’m honestly at my wits’ end and posting here to sanity check if it’s just me or if Wakefit quality has gone downhill.

I’ve been a Wakefit customer for the last ~8 years. My old Wakefit orthopedic mattress has been absolutely solid all this time – no drama, no sagging, no back pain. I’ve recommended Wakefit to literally everyone in my circle and quite a few people bought because of my referrals.

Recently I decided to upgrade and bought a Wakefit Shape Sense Orthopedic (10 inch) mattress, assuming it would be the same (or better) experience.

Instead, it’s been a nightmare.

  • As soon as I lie down on the new mattress, my back starts hurting within minutes.
  • If I switch back and sleep on my old 8‑year‑old Wakefit orthopedic mattress, I’m totally fine – no back pain, I sleep like a baby.
  • The difference is so drastic that it’s almost comical. Old one = flawless. New one = instant pain.

At this point I honestly feel like either:

  • They’ve changed the materials / firmness / construction in the newer Shape Sense lineup in a bad way, or
  • There’s a defective batch / quality issue with the one I received.

I haven’t had this kind of back pain in years and it started literally the day I switched to this new mattress. It’s not “adjustment discomfort” – it’s straight up unbearable.

I wanted to put this out here to:

  1. Ask other Wakefit users –
    • Has anyone else faced back pain specifically with the Shape Sense Orthopedic (10 inch)?
    • Did you notice a quality drop compared to their older orthopedic mattresses?
    • Tag the Wakefit team publicly so they can’t just brush this aside.

Wakefit team, if you’re reading this:

I’ve been a loyal customer for 8+ years and have actively promoted your brand to friends and family. The old mattress I bought from you is still working beautifully, which is why I trusted you again without overthinking.

This new Shape Sense Orthopedic mattress is causing severe back pain almost immediately when I lie down, while your older mattress from 8 years ago is perfectly comfortable for me. That clearly points to either a product defect or a change in quality / design on your side, not just “personal preference.”

I’m not asking for anything unreasonable – I just want:

  • proper inspection of this unit,
  • An honest answer on whether there has been a change in materials / specs vs your older orthopedic mattresses

If you genuinely care about long‑term customers and your “orthopedic” branding, this is exactly the kind of case you should be taking seriously.

Happy to share:

  • Order details,
  • Photos / videos,
  • Any info you need to actually debug this instead of closing the ticket.
