Just wrapped up this kids bathroom remodel in South Austin. We kept the layout simple but upgraded everything to make the space feel cleaner, brighter, and easier to maintain.

Features:
• Green subway tile shower walls
• Slim shaker vanity to save space
• Built-in shampoo niche
• Sliding glass shower door
• Updated modern finishes throughout

This was a smaller bathroom, so maximizing storage and making the room feel open was the main goal. The green tile added just enough color without making the space feel too busy.

Just wrapped up a full master bathroom remodel in Austin, Texas with a complete layout transformation by THA Construction & Remodeling.

The original space had a small, cramped shower and a bulky garden tub that didn’t make sense for the homeowner’s lifestyle. We reworked the entire layout to improve both function and flow:

•	Removed the small shower and converted that area into a **custom storage space**

•	Eliminated the outdated garden tub

•	Built a **spacious walk-in shower** with **large format tile installation**

•	Installed **Kohler shower fixtures** for a clean, modern look and reliable performance

•	Added **glass enclosure** to keep the space open and bright

•	Designed a **floating European-style vanity** with **quartzite countertops** for a high-end finish

This project is a good example of how a smart layout change can completely transform a bathroom—not just visually, but in how it’s actually used day-to-day.

We focus on high-quality materials, proper waterproofing, and long-term durability on every project here in Austin.

Grout lines? Bye

Just wrapped up this custom microcement shower remodel in Austin, Texas and wanted to share something a little different from the usual tile installs.

We went with a pistachio color microcement finish for a clean, modern, and completely seamless look. No grout lines, no joints—just a smooth continuous surface that makes the space feel bigger and easier to maintain.

Build details:

•	Full demo + substrate prep

•	Waterproofing system (properly layered, not skipped like a lot of flipper jobs)

•	Hand-applied microcement system with multiple coats

•	Custom shower base + integrated drain

•	Sealed for durability, stain resistance, and long-term performance

Microcement is becoming more popular here in Austin bathroom remodels because it works great for:

•	Walk-in showers

•	Wet rooms

•	Modern / minimalist designs

•	Clients who want something unique beyond tile

Big advantage: no grout = less maintenance + fewer failure points when done correctly.

This one was designed and built by THA Construction & Remodeling here in Austin. We focus a lot on proper prep and waterproofing because that’s where most shower failures actually happen.

If you’re thinking about a microcement shower in Austin or comparing it vs tile, happy to answer questions.

This one looked like a clean, normal shower at first glance… but it was a classic flipper job. Within just 2 years of the homeowner buying the house, the shower pan failed → leading to leaks and mold behind the walls.

We demo’d everything down to the studs and rebuilt it the right way:

•	Full waterproofing using Schluter shower system (no shortcuts)

•	Proper slope and drainage to prevent future failures

•	Hand-installed Zellige tile for a clean but textured, high-end look

•	Custom walnut vanity for warmth and contrast

•	Frameless sliding glass shower doors to open up the space

A lot of these issues don’t show until it’s too late. If you’re in Austin and buying a recently flipped home, it’s always worth checking what’s behind the tile — not just how it looks on the surface.

This remodel is a good example of doing it once vs. doing it twice.
