Lenovo V14 G1 IML suddenly stopped booting after repeated gaming crashes.
Problem history:
- While gaming, the laptop would sometimes freeze and BSOD with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.
- After the crash, I usually forced shutdown using the power button.
- Over time, the boot behavior became worse.
Current symptoms:
- Black screen always, no Lenovo logo.
- Caps Lock does not respond.
- No POST/BIOS.
- With charger plugged in:
- laptop powers on automatically without pressing power button,
- fan spins continuously,
- but black screen remains.
- On battery only:
- fan spins briefly then stops,
- sometimes laptop shuts off,
- sometimes stays on with black screen.
- Same behavior even with RAM removed.
- USB devices do not receive power.
What I already tried:
- EC/CMOS reset
- reseating RAM
- booting without RAM
- disconnecting CMOS battery
- testing charger/battery behavior
Motherboard visually shows no obvious burn marks.
Some people suggested:
- VRM / MOSFET / CPU power rail failure,
- BIOS/EC corruption,
- motherboard power delivery issue.
Could overheating during gaming have damaged the CPU VRM area on this Lenovo V14 G1 IML?
