I haven’t been able to find anyone referencing this online in a cursory search so figured I’d post it.

Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne?

Jayne: Money wasn't good enough.

Mal: What happens when it is?

Jayne: [smiling] Well... that'll be an interesting day.

It kind of fits given the western theme. Coincidence? I lean toward inspiration or reference.
