FSU IT Jobs/Internships

Hi, can anyone share their experience working for FSU ITS or getting an internship from FSU? Like IT Specialist, Technician, IT Support Assistant, etc.

Transitioning to IT/Cybersecurity. Is my current plan solid?

Hey everyone, I recently decided to pivot from pre-nursing to IT/Cybersecurity due to some health issues that make nursing physically unsustainable for me.

Because I already have a lot of college credits, I'm planning to major in Psychology (it's the only available major I actually like that accepts my credits) and minor in Computer Science at FSU. I'm currently taking classes at my local state college (stats, databases, programming) to build a technical foundation.

Outside of class, I'm studying for the Google IT Support cert and building an enterprise-level home lab (Hyper-V, Active Directory, Snipe-IT), plus learning Python & PowerShell to automate tasks. I'm planning to document all my lab projects on a GitHub/Notion portfolio to link directly on my resume. I will do CompTIA Security+ soon.

My goal is to land an entry-level IT support job soon, and eventually move into Cybersecurity or Data Analysis.

Given my Psych major / CS minor combo and my self-study plan, am I on the right track? Any advice on what else I should focus on or drop?
