***Roman's Urgent Surgery***

Hi everyone, I wanted to give everyone an update an Roman, and also say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Roman has officially had his surgery. It's been a really stressful and emotional few days, but I am so relieved to say he made it through. Things have been different for him and have been a bit challenging for him understand what is happening, but he is expected to make a full recovery and will start physiotherapy exercises 2 weeks post-op. He's such an important part of our family and seeing him start his recovery means everything to us.

Because of your kindness, shares, support, and donations, I was able to get him the care he needed. Truly, I don't think I could have managed this without you. Every comment, every message, and every dollar all mattered more than I can put into words.

I also wanted to give an quick update on the costs. I was able to find an amazing surgeon that would perform the procedure for lower amount than I was originally quoted for. Because of this I was able to lower the overall goal.

Even though the surgery is done, we're not completely in the clear yet. Roman still has follow-up appointments and medications which will be manageable, however I had to use funds that were set aside for our living expenses to make sure he got treated.

If you're able to continue sharing or supporting in any way, it would mean so much to us as we try to recover from this financially while making sure Roman heals properly. Thank you again for showing so much love to Roman and to our family. I'll continue to post updates as he heals.

***My 2 year old cat Roman needs urgent surgery - Your kindness and support during this challenging time is much appreciated***

Hi everyone,

This is my best friend, Roman.

Roman isn't just a cat, he's a huge part of our family and means the world to my children and I. He's always there, whether it's curling up beside us, following us around the house, or just being that constant comforting presence in our lives. On April 4th, Roman's world as he knew it changed, when suddenly he started crying out in pain and it was obvious that he was experiencing an issue with his hind area. We rushed him in to the emergency vet clinic, where they examined him and took x-rays that were sent off to be reviewed by a specialist.

We were told that Roman has a predisposed condition, where part of his hip joint (right side) didn't develop properly, leaving the area weaker than normal. Because of this, he suffered a painful fracture in his hip (the ball part of the joint), making it very difficult for him to walk or even stand comfortably.

Roman now needs urgent surgery called a femoral head and neck ostectomy, where the damaged part of the hip joint is removed. Right now, he's in a lot of discomfort, and this surgery is necessary to give him a chance at a pain free life.

This came out of nowhere, and was a total shock. The cost of his emergency vet bill and surgery is just simply more than I can manage on my own right now. I am a single mother of 4 children, and I am currently a mature student completing my post-secondary degree in a full-time program, with a part-time job. This leaves me with a very limited income, and I've been trying to figure out every possible option as this isn't something that can wait without affecting Roman's quality of life.

Seeing Roman in pain has been very hard on all of us and your support would mean the world to us. We are trying to reach as many people as we can to share Roman's story, so that he can have a chance.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this, your shares and support during this time mean more than I can express.
