My Oral Surgeon just cleared me for regular eating again, 10 days post op
I had two upper molars (#2 and #14) pulled and implant studs put in same day 10 days ago. the studs are mostly below the gums, one is only partially visible. since then, I've been blending all foods I eat to the same consistency as mashed potatoes.
I've heard that it normally takes 6-8 weeks before normal foods can be eaten post implants, but according to my doc since my studs are so far below my teeth and partially buried by the gums, and I have no pain, I should be find as long as I don't try chewing hard nuts directly on my implant sites.
I trust my doc but I'm still scared to try eating normally again and fucking up my implants. but I've been craving a hamburger for the last two weeks badly now too. we have another checkup in 3 months and I'm planning on getting the crowns put on in 6.
