Have you seen my giant wagon wandering about town??

Have you seen my giant wagon wandering about town??

Edit to update: the cart has been RETURNED this evening (Tuesday). A great many people took the time to send me photos & doorbell videos of the cart as it adventured through the town, and I'm so grateful for this community support.

Thanks also to the person who chose to return it- I'm so grateful you did the good thing and brought it back. Thank you, and may your luck improve a thousandfold.

Earlier I wrote:

It seems to have toddled off yesterday during the middle of the day from near the Cooper Site. It's enormous (designed to be towed behind a vehicle) and fairly distinctive. I haven't seen any other like it in town.

If you see it, could you let me know (or even the police- I don't know if they deal with stuff like this but I did file a report)?.

I guess I'm also interested in hearing recommendations for security cameras, if there's a type that you prefer. :-(

Thanks,

a sad gardener

“Weeds and Wings: Adversaries and Allies in your Garden

Imagine a garden alive with insect life. Your plants are visible and the weeds are not. How do you get this thought into reality? Let's talk on Monday, May 4th.

Amy Turnbull

Amy Turnbull has a B.Sc. in microbiology from the University of Guelph, and Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Calgary. She did industrial post-doctoral research on plant-microbe interactions in vegetable crops. For the last decade, she has been faculty at Fanshawe College, teaching plant biology, plant agriculture and microbiology.

Amy has also been a Master Gardener for more than a decade with the London Middlesex Master Gardeners.  She has a large vegetable garden in Middlesex County. In the last few years, she has expanded into native plant gardening solely with the purpose of attracting insects. A permanent student of biology, she has now read many books on bees, flies and spiders. This year, she is working on learning about butterflies. Come along and hopefully you will be inspired to take the leap into the insect world as well.
