IITB final year UG, joining American Express as Data Scientist (19 base, ~28 CTC).

Trying to get a grounded reality check on comp at ~4–5 YOE in tech (no MBA path). Not looking for ranges or “market estimates”.. want actual offers (yours / close friends’), with breakup if possible.

Context: Startups like Meesho, Navi, Ola, Myntra, Zomato and MNCs like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Optum, American Express.

Also want to compare this with MBA + ~2 YOE roles (consulting / prod / finance) purely on money. Ignore interest, WLB, luck etc, just comp outcomes.

Would help if you mention the role (SDE2 / DS2 / Senior DS etc.) and yoe as well, fixed vs bonus vs stock, and whether it was a switch or same company growth
