Period like cramps?

I’m one day shy of 38 weeks gestation. Occasionally (once every few days, including today) I’ve been feeling mild cramps, similar to how it feels when your period is about to come. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this expected around this stage?

Thank you.

Where did you purchase newborn clothes?

Hi everyone. I’m one day shy of 38 weeks. So far I’ve shopped at Carter’s, H&M, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Janie & Jack, Burt’s Bees, Children’s Place, and Little Sleepies. It’s my first pregnancy so I’m not quite sure of all of the other options.

What other reputable stores would you guys recommend for shopping for baby clothes? Specifically NB & 0-3 months.

Thank you!

Vasovagal Syncope

I’ve had a few episodes in the early third trimester where I almost passed out. It’s been terrifying because it felt like a near death experience, each time. But I never actually passed out, just always been very close to passing out. My OB medical team has not been able to trace it to a single cause, but they believe it might just be the high blood volume during pregnancy or blood sugar dips.

When I had my first ever pap smear years ago, was the only time I had experienced an anxiety-related vasovagal presyncope episode. Even then it felt like a near death experience. It is extremely scary for me. My blood pressure drops, heart rate drops, vision starts blacking out, it feels like something is sucking me out of my body. It seems to me that not everyone I’ve spoke to that have had episodes like this describe the “feels like dying” type sensation. It’s a different type of sensation for everyone.

I’m 37 weeks + 4 days pregnant. In theory, at this gestational age and onwards, I can go in labor at any moment. Labor and delivery is a long, uncomfortable, and anxiety-inducing process for a lot of women, especially first time pregnancies like me. I am now so frightened that I cannot seem to enjoy the final weeks of my pregnancy.

My biggest fear is what if I pass out during labor? What if I experience that trauma inducing “close to” passing out sensation that feels like near death? Do women pass out or nearly pass out during labor? Is this a common occurrence? It’s not the pain I’m scared of, it’s the passing out! But in the last 5 weeks I haven’t had a single episode, so I’m hanging on to hope ):

Edit: My episodes are *not* anxiety related. Only ever had one anxiety related one years ago.
