Identity strategy

Just reflecting on their online strategies and wondering if Leena regrets to have initially mentioned that she was half Palestinian when she started blogging? As her dad lived most his life in Kuwait/Jordan before the US, she could have just said that she was half Arab, which would have been more accurate as the dad doesn't seem very close to his Palestinian roots anyway. Same for her sisters, if they just had been honest without the forced modest label, people would have been nicer as they would just assume that are are vaguely Muslims and support their hijabi sister. I think that the lack of support for Palestine, the refusal to boycott and the performative modest lifestyle are too heavy for them to carry and it starts to be quite bad.

Ascia (Kuwait)

There were a few posts about her recently, including mine about her Tiktok with her son telling her that he is going to pray with her (she is wearing hijab). I am honestly confused about her as I would like to believe that she is back to Islam but it seems that her personnality changes every 3 months. I started following her when she had her first son and she seemed balanced, very classy and quite happy with her husband. Not judging her divorce as we don't know what happened between them but really struggled wit her life style post divorce, especially the ambiguous female friendships, that she could have kept private at least. I do believe that her mom is the typical American lady who married a Muslim Arab but deep down wants her children to be westernised and ideally non Muslim (as Ascia said a few years ago that her mom refused to speak to her for months when she started wearing the hijab).
