2000 explorer v 1000

Finally got to take the 2000 out camping, its normally my home/workshop back up. When i take the expedition truck out my “go to” is a my Explorer 1000 plus. This time i knew my power demands would be higher so i took the 2000. We were a part of the frazer Island clean up. Its where 4x4 clubs come to pick up rubbish on the worlds largest sand island.. it a national park thats 4x4 friendly!
While the White Rhino is well set up with house batteries, the portability and flexibility of Jackery is a winner. Out door cooking, powering a starlink and external lighting the 2000 did it with ease! The downside was the weight … so much heavier than the 1000. Now worries as a fixed set up, but if you want to take the power to where you are using it, well the 1000 is the winner. For us the ease of portability is critical… will bring the 1000… maybe i need to buy another one!

G’day this is my EVA built - Expedition Vehicle Australia - based on the SCAM (its an Italian company) IVECO 4x4. Comes standard with 37’s, triple locked, 24 gears with a final drive ratio of 100:1 powered by a 3 l 4cyl turbo diesel its economical but not powerful. Pretty much goes anywhere, in comfort. Diesel heating and hot water, shower/toilet, ton of freezer and refrigeration. Runs 650 watts roof solar for 300 Ah lithium, also run a Jackery 1000 with portable solar as a back up or for when i camp in shade!

The black Zombie truck in front is a modified Landcruiser LJ55

Set up for long term off grid camping, 650 watts of solar on the roof, 280 watts of portable solar powering a jackery 1000. “House” battery 300 Ah lithium. The mix of portable power works well, means i can park the rig in the shade and not have to endlessly move to chase the sun!
