Ive played and completed this game and havent geard anything about solid snake. Not even a reference. Am i missing something or does the game not reference him whatsoever?

Hello this is my first run of mgr and im absolutely loving this game. Everything else before armstrong was pretty easy since i mastered parries early on but armstrong does seem to be a roadblock for me. Does anyone have any advice to beat him? (Im on ps3)
