Periodic reminder: Men cannot get tested for high risk HPV strains, and they spread it around unburdened by guilt and shame!
Men cannot get tested for high risk HPV and therefore they don't carry the stigma and guilt for it, while spreading it far and wide.
I'm seeing sooo many posts by straight women overwhelmed by shame and guilt for having HPV which was very likely given to the them by men (this is not to assign "guilt", it is just how transmission works).
Almost all straight women got HPV from a man who sleeps well at night because he is unaware he has it.
Even your future male partner, going by the statistics only, probably have encountered some HPV strain, statistically more likely HPV 16 since it's the most widespread strain.
Your guilt and shame as a straight woman is gendered and unfair - spreading HPV is not a gendered affair, we should all aim for vaccination coverage, more education, and check ups - whether it be gynecologists visits or dentists/ENTs.
