Direction For HFT

Good Morning from Brissy guys!

I recently joined MSC in Fin Engineering from WQU. I always have had the interest to algo trade, so I completed my bachelor in DS while focusing on self studying the trade.

Current implementation in HMM based long only strat used as a day trading. But I wanna get more involved and learn about the technology and strategies.

HFT is one of the buzzword I hear all the time, as fas as I know it’s used by every institution and it’s impossible to compete with them as a retail trader.

Would like to know if it’s possible to take HFT as a retail trader? Also, regardless, if someone could point me into the direction for the foundation of HFT, any books or tutorial to get my hands dirty.

I love learning by implementation rather than just reading.

Cheers! everone :)

Algo Trading Prop Firms

Hey Guys!

Just joined the group. I am currently pursuing MSC in Fin Engineering from WQU.

Just wanted to be involved and be part of the community. And have a question.

Has/ Is anyone algo trading Indices using Prop Firms Challenge? What are your thoughts on the challenge? I think if we treat their constraints as an optimization problem, it seems to have a tend of a convex payoff, like an option.

Would love to know from experts their experience on this.

Hi, I am ML engineer, I wanna get my hands into prop trading. I found Atlas Funded has instant challenge with add on that removes the minimum days requirement.

Does that eliminate the consistency rule too? They have 1% consistency rule for minimum trading days but if they remove the minimum trading days would that automatically remove the consistency rule too?
