Hello all, my salary is less than wage level 1, I am currently in San Jose. My company’s lawyers mentioned I will still fall under wage level 1. Now, my h1b is selected, but my salary is still below the level 1 wage.

What happens here? Should i talk to my manager to increase my salary to match the level 1? It’s a difference of just 9k. I am scared as well a bit as there are layoff rumors going around
