How does a published paper highly critical of existing research look on PhD applications?

I'm currently writing my Master's thesis.

My advisor wants to publish it.

In part of my thesis, I take a look at how researchers in our field use and talk about AI in their research.

Most of it's fine, but a few researchers are engaging in what can best be described as morally questionable pseudoscience. A section of my thesis is devoted to a thorough critique of a few very problematic papers.

It's the section my advisor is most interested in publishing.

I have a job in industry lined up, but I'm considering applying to PhD programmes within the next couple of years.

Would it be seen as a negative or a positive if I had a published paper that is very critical of a few papers?

I should probably mention: None of the researchers I criticize are involved in the PhD programmes I'm interested in applying to.

2 trips lasting 1 month each starting in Denmark - but where to?

I live in Denmark and I'm moving to Copenhagen in the middle of July.

Because of this, I can do two interrail trips of about one month each. One before moving, and one after.

I want to visit Zürich, Cologne, Paris, London and Manchester the first trip. There's Cologne Pride and a family member is getting married in Manchester.

The second trip I'm not so sure.

I could travel in Norway and Sweden.

Or maybe travel around Northern Italy and Slovenia.

Or go to Warsaw, Krakow and Budapest.

Or fly to Tallinn and travel back home by train.

Any suggestions? I like history, architecture and art.

I have travelled a lot in Germany, Austria and the Benelux region before, and I want to try something new.
