Movie ticket resellers
This reseller situation at Lincoln Square IMAX is getting ridiculous at this point. It’s crazy how there’s now a whole group of people treating movie tickets like a flip opportunity, buying a bunch all at once just to resell them for way more. Like it’s a movie, not a limited-edition drop.
It honestly takes the fun out of it. Going to the movies is supposed to be easy, something you decide to do and just go. Now it’s starting to feel like you need to compete with people who don’t even care about the movie, they just want to make a quick profit.
And we’ve already seen how this goes. Concerts, festivals, consoles, sneakers, all of it got hit the same way. Real fans get pushed out while resellers sit in the middle taxing the whole experience. Now it’s happening to movie theaters too, which is wild because that used to be one of the last normal things left.
It also just changes the vibe. Instead of people being excited to see something together, it turns into who was fast enough or willing to overpay. That’s not what going to the movies is supposed to feel like.At some point something has to change. Better limits, stopping bulk purchases, whatever it is. Or people just stop buying resale altogether. Because if not, it’s just going to keep spreading and everything turns into this same annoying cycle. It’s exhausting and honestly just lame.
