What should my next steps be here ?

I saw an opening in our internal portal for a job located outside India (in EU). I reached to my senior manager who put in a more than good word for me to the hiring manager. The hiring manager and I had an initial call and while it went okay he expressed a concern that since this job involves travel to China, my passport might be an issue.
anyway we had the next round. while the interview went okay I was upfront that I am new to the domain. the domain they are working in is the next version of the domain I am in. anyway I happened to be in the country where the office is located and after 3 days of no update, wrote to the hiring manager that I am physically available. He arranged for a coffee meeting along with the other member who was in the interview panel.
We walked around the office and the hiring manager said "Not saying it for sure but suppose we are ready to train you on the domain because it is all about how you apply but you hate the job or hate the country, what then". I did try to convince him that I wish to migrate and this role and the place would be a growth for me in terms of profession and personal challenge.
We reached to the entrance of their building (I was visiting a different team as purpose of my visit located in a different building) and the hiring manager asked me if I would like to see the workspace. after the tour it was a bit awkward. no "we will stay in touch" or whatever.
I typed in the scenario on AI tools and it believes I need to follow up with the hiring manager. my partner thinks if they want to hire me then they will reach out and as someone who has done a lot of hirings myself, I know if its not a hell yes then its a no. however this is not a straightforward situation therefore I cannot blame the manager for not going back and forth.
what should I do next ?
