Has announced her retirement with immediate effect. From an Arsenal pov I can’t see it as a bad thing Chelsea losing their captain. I know they haven’t been as dominate this season but could have a ripple effect in the team long term maybe into next season as well. 🤷♀️
From a Lionesses pov it’s gutting to lose such a key member of the defence.
I think this also highlights the need for more attention to be paid to how the game impacts women’s bodies and how to counteract that impact. If she’s retiring it looks like there’s no way back from that ankle injury.
