Don’t have a lot of people to share this with so I’m sharing it here. The students of the class I’ve been teaching since January surprised me today with a goodbye party and an incredibly thoughtful gift. I’ve censored identifying information obviously but wanted to share some of the most meaningful messages I’ve ever gotten. I dealt with a lot of imposter syndrome this year and throughout my time in college, but I’ve been so supported by my students and mentor teacher, I literally do not think I could have had a better experience. For everyone else finishing around this time, I wish you the best of luck!

Good afternoon! Tried to size my left ear up to a 2g from a 4g (glass dead stretching kit) Monday night and was able to get it in with some resistance but little pain. Was a bit tender Tuesday, completely fine on Wednesday but became tender again today on Thursday and started feeling a bit swollen. Took it out after work and it immediately started bleeding a fair amount. Not quite “this is running down my neck and ruining my clothes” but “oh wow that’s definitely bleeding a fair amount.” I’ve never had this even come close to happening before and my other stretches have been very smooth. The first picture is immediately, the second two are about an hour later. Tried to put the 4g glass plug back in but it’s tender and stings and honestly I think it’s too swollen to get in.

I’m frustrated that I think I really screwed myself over here and know there’s nobody to blame but me, but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what my next steps should be from here. Apologize for the picture quality, the best I could get on my terrible phone haha. Thanks yall!
