So, i was re-watching "Revenge of the Sith" yesterday, and i had to wonder; what if Anakin wasn't just MANIPULATED by Palpatine? What if Palpatine BRAINWASHED Anakin?? and not the traditional kind of brainwashing, oh no. what i mean is Project MKUltra.
Now, at first this might sound crazy, but just hear me out. MKUltra was an illegal human experimentation program that the CIA did. What they did was traumatize and abuse people until their mind broke. then they pretty much PROGRAMMED their minds to do what ever they want. it could be; shoot someone, blow up something, kill someone, LITERALLY ANYTHING.but there ALWAYS had to be a trigger. i someone was abuse by another person in lets say, a polka-dot dress. later, i someone came up to them in a polka dot dress and spoke some special words to them, they would go berserk, and do whatever the CIA programmed them to do.
That's what i think happened to Anakin in RotS. Palpie puts on a black cloak, and tells him: "You are fulfilling your destiny, Anakin". With all of the times Palps And Ani hung out, he would have had plenty of time to abuse and break Ani, and then program him. AND he could have done i while wearing a black cloak. OR he could have had one of his apprentices do it for him. i dunno. It might seem crazy, but i feel like this might be a compelling theory.
