The older I get the more that it feels that 'love' isn't real. It feels like we just don't have the heart to tell children that the real reason Mommy and Daddy got together is because they were each other's best looking option. All of the unattractive people I know are single and all the attractive people I know never struggle to find a date. If love actually existed then it'd be commonplace to see attractive people paired up with unattractive people and, despite the internet's toxic positivity, this just doesn't happen all that often in real life.

I desperately want to believe that love exists but I don't have it in me to lie to myself anymore.
