Permits for Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh
Hi everyone,
I am a German citizen pla nning a trip to Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Me and a friend will rent a car and do a self-driving tour. Do not worry about us, we both have extensive experience driving in countries like Morocco, Peru, Thailand, Colombia, and Mexico.
Now, my question is, which areas do I need which permit for? And how to obtain these?
This is our planned route. I'd appreciate advice about our route too:
May 8: Arrival in Delhi
May 9: Delhi, plus drive to Rishikesh (5–6 hours)
May 10: Rafting in Rishikesh, plus drive to Kanasar (5–6 hours)
May 11: Kanasar
May 12: Drive to Rohru (4 hours)
May 13: Rohru
May 14: Drive to Shoja (6 hours)
May 15: Shoja
May 16: Drive to Manali (4 hours)
May 17: Manali
May 18: Drive to Jispa (4 hours)
May 19: Jispa
May 20: Drive to Leh (9 hours)
May 21: Leh

May 23: Drive to Kargil (5 hours)

May 25 Drive to Srinagar (5 hours)
