Pre-cautionary tale for fellow American authors regarding flair.

It appears that I have not been reading enough LITRPG because when I saw the ranks for the author flair my brain automatically defaulted to F->D->C for grades and completely passed over E. It was only when I saw a comment mentioning D rank being mod assigned that I double checked the rankings and realized I had put the wrong one on.

So to any of my fellow small authors, I recommend looking over the rankings in case you've forgotten that E is a letter. Or I could be the only one, in which case I'm sorry for the unnecessary post.

An unresolved past rots through the present and taints the future.

December 31st, 2055. The day of humanity's first contact with the incomprehensible cosmic entities in the wider universe, causing mass upheaval around the world.

It's been one hundred years since then, the apocalypse came and went, but humanity is still stuck repeating its past mistakes.

The Archmagus Lodge asks the universe questions, uncaring for who answers.

Second Adventists want to bring salvation to humanity, under the boot of their messiah.

And the governments of the world are now mere shadows of their former selves, clinging to any power they have left.

Alexandra Summers was born into this mess in the theocratic dictatorship that took over former Canada. Now an escapee and recent graduate of the monster slaying Hunter's Guild, she's finally gained access to the guide network and the upgrades it provides. Her dream is to become a named Hunter like her hero Artemis and be strong enough to never be at the mercy of others again.

The past never stays buried though and she's burned more than a few bridges to get where she is. Now she'll have to reap what she's sown while old enemies bring back past traumas and new tortures. All while fighting the eldritch horrors that haunt the Earth.

What to expect

  • Traumatized FMC pushes past the breakdown to finish the mission
  • LITRPG power ups are smaller or more utility based
  • Horror
  • No romance (characters may flirt, but won't date)
  • Queer characters
  • Mix of Modern and Medieval weapons with magic

Influenced by S.T.A.L.K.E.R., SCP, The Witcher series, Wasteland series, and Bleed Out by the Mountain Goats
