Is there any reason why you can’t seal new gib and do the first coat before it goes up? Does it make it harder to work with? I hate painting above my head and I figure pre painting is a way to get into the corners and do the hard bits before it goes up. Painting will still be needed afterwards but it should just be a smaller amount of seal and paint on the plastered bits before the final coat?

Am I missing something?
