Hi everyone!

I’m planning to move to Australia in August on a Work Holiday Visa and I’m trying to map out my year. My idea is to experience different parts of the country by living in 4 major cities for about 3 months each.

I’d love advice from people who’ve done something similar or are locals 😊

A few questions:

• Which 4 cities would you recommend I prioritize and why? (I’m thinking a mix of lifestyle, job opportunities, and overall experience)
• What neighborhoods/areas are best to live in for each city (safe, good vibe, relatively accessible)?
• Where should I be looking for housing? (websites, Facebook groups, etc.)
• What are the best places/platforms to apply for jobs while on a working holiday visa?

A bit about me:

• Open to different types of work (hospitality, admin, education-related, etc.)
• I enjoy being active, social, and exploring nature but also like a good city vibe
• Ideally want a balance between affordability and a great experience

If you’ve done the “move every few months” thing, I’d also love to hear:

• Was 3 months per city enough / too much?
• Anything you would do differently?
