I pre-ordered a package last year and it was so close to being delivered but ran into an issue. I don't order stuff very often so I'm struggling to understand what the issue is exactly. Can someone explain it to me?

Was it that no one was there to accept the package, or that there was something wrong with the package? How do I fix the problem? I don't live at the address it's being sent to.
