I had a bad dream about my HDDs, i dreamed a rock falling on both of them and they both broke, so I got scared and decided to turn them on and backup my data, one big 3.5" rusty drive worked and got 99.9% of the data back. (190Gb was recovered, only one 4mb image was currupted).

the other small 2.5" drive died on me the moment it showed windows 7 logo, i heard the click of the heads when a laptop turns off all of a sudden, and then the laptop refused to turn on untill i removed the HDD.

Now when i plug the 2.5" HDD using a USB adapter, the adapter's LED turns off, DOES THAT MEAN THE CIRCUIT IS DEAD ?
so I assumed so, and immidiatly ordered a new circuit, (it will arrive on 25 May).

I asked google ai, described the problem and it told me there was a short circuit and a diode was burned and i can remove the dead diode and try to turn it on, but it said that if the short happen again the the BIOS chip would die and my data will be LOST FOREVER!

-GUYS HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE, TELL ME WHAT SHOULD BE MY NEXT MOVE, and WHICH CHIP CONTAINS THE BIOS ? SHOULD I BUY TOOLS AND SWAP THE BIOS CHIP MYSELF OR PAY A SPECIALIST ?
