Selling 70 grams of Indium for $60 (free shipping)
Would anyone be interested in this indium sample? I had leftover, as I had a ton of indium compared to smaller amounts of other elements in my collection, and I was wondering if anyone would like to purchase it here. Thanks!
My school’s lack of PPE when working with lead metal/compounds
For context, today in on-level high school chemistry (I’m a 10th grader in California), we were doing a “lab” where you would find the specific heat of a metal while working on our energy unit. There were 6 metals in this lab, and you would find the heat of two of them, where some groups had lead. We were never told to not touch our faces or eyes, which many students do because it’s cold season, and weren’t even given any goggles or gloves. WTF! I tried telling my teacher this, mentioning how when lead easily oxidizes it creates compounds that can easily become airborne. I also explained how there’s no safe level of lead, and that it would’ve been easy for us to get it on our faces or inhale it. His only response was that “it’s only bad if we eat it”, and after more back and forth he said he would put them away. Well he didn’t, and he never even told the class to wash our hands. Keep in mind, my teacher has worked with a lead iodide experiment/demonstration also without gloves or any ppe. This is one of many problems with my shitty public school, and I seriously don’t know how we are supposed to have a future when we work with potent neurotoxins. Thoughts?
Another dead meme shitpost
I apologize if this is immature and spam-like for this subreddit. However, as someone born in Gen Z who's raised up with memes such as these, I find it interesting to look back on and make a meme with my own passions. This is a "Mr Incredible Becoming Uncanny" meme, where he slowly gets more and more disturbed, where I matched toxic elements to phases.
