I have a Hifiman Ananda Nano that im really happy with sound wise. As is natural I'm wondering how much better can the Arya Organic or the HE1000 stealth be, and if a tradeup costing 370€/520€ respectively is worth it.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
First sound impressions are that they are a very good pair of headphones but a bit overpriced imo.
I was disappointed with the bass quantity and quality to be honest. Maybe I'm used to the bass of the FT1, but the thing is that even when adding a bass shelf, it is kinda sloppy (will EQ around more to see if it's a driver limitation). I much prefer the FT1s bass response.
Mids are really great, very natural sounding and I prefer the timbre in comparison to the FT1 which sounds a bit artificial sometimes.
Highs are exceptional. They are slightly forward tuned but not really bothersome for me. What amazed me is that on my head I can only hear 1 small peak at 9000 khz, the rest is buttery smooth.
Details and stage are adequate. I feel as though the FT1 has a slightly wider stage and maybe a little more detail (could be the result of hotter treble tuning).
So compared to a 150$ headphone, you get better tonality (mids, highs), worse bass and slightly less stage. I feel like imaging is slighty better though. In terms of comfort I find both headphones plenty comfortable. Lastly, I really dislike the included cable as it is intended for studio use and is plenty heavy.
