Coconut cult, a no for me 😭

Wanted to share my personal experience with Coconut Cult because I know people seem to either LOVE it or react really differently to it.

Honestly… it worked almost immediately in terms of digestion lol. It definitely helped move waste out of my body and I actually thought it tasted really good. I understood the hype at first.

Unfortunately within about 2-3 days I started breaking out pretty badly and not in my usual hormonal acne areas/cycle. I lowered the amount in the days ahead thinking maybe I started too aggressively, but the acne continued. At the same time I also started experiencing constipation + honestly some of the worst gas/bloating I’ve had in a while.

I really tried to separate the positive effects from my body’s reaction to it because I realllly wanted it to work for me, but overall sadly I think it’s a no for my body personally. The acne has already started calming down after stopping it.

I wanted to share a personal experience in case it helps anyone else navigating this.

I’ve taken 56 shots of tirzepatide and in maintenance for about 5 months. Lil over a month ago, I decided to take a break (I know this isn’t the right choice for everyone, but I made this decision with guidance and felt comfortable doing so).

One thing I didn’t expect and honestly kind of forgot what it felt like, was how my body would respond from a nervous system standpoint.

I track with an Oura ring, and over the past ~5 weeks off the medication, my physiological stress levels have dropped to the lowest they’ve been in over a year. Before, my baseline felt like I was in a constant “engaged” state all day functional, but slightly elevated. My heart rate would run a bit higher, and it didn’t take much for that to tip into stress. I could relax at night, but during the day my body always felt a little “on.” Also delt with a few depressive moments that did fade but left me weary.

Now, with the medication mostly out of my system, there’s been a noticeable shift. My heart rate is lower, my stress metrics are better, and I feel a sense of calm in my body that I genuinely didn’t realize I’d been missing. It’s like my nervous system finally exhaled.

On the flip side, yes, hunger cues are definitely coming back. That part is real and I’ve noticed some other hormonal symptoms. I wanted to share this because the tradeoff has been really eye opening for me. I forgot what it felt like to feel this relaxed in both my body and mind and not think about the impact of the medicine.

I think tirzepatide is incredible and will utilize this medicine again but wanted to share this moment. Not saying this is a universal experience, just mine, but figured it might resonate with someone else and haven’t seen others talk about it.

❤️
