I am SC dropper male from west bengal last year i scored only 11%ile in april and didnt gave jan attempt
i had 77% in boards 2025 i never studied for JEE i was unaware about it untill 12th mid term exam and all i am from a lower middle class family no one is even 12th pass in my family ill be the 1st one who will join college
our yearly income is 4 LPA
i have to support my family by earning money in drop year yes i am not joking so i used to get less time for studying (only at night used to watch prayas lectures from PW but later got distracted)
i am a resident of West Bengal gave WBJEE 2025 and it went bad too was getting Barch in Jadavpur University so you can understand how much bad marks i scored
i took drop in 2026 and still didnt made it got only 83.7%ile in mains jan and got burnt out till april only 45%ile but within that time i was studying for Advanced was building important concepts and all
ik adv is there but to be honest cuz i am sc and qualified but to be honest i think its impossible for me even i need very less score
so i saw a video of a youtuber who was discussing csab opening closing ranks
i got to know about csab and jossaa few days back only.....
so i was searching it yearwise and i know that there is 50% seats reserved for respective home state students of that NIT
i first checked JOSAA and my sc rank is 14000 so its impossible as last to last i saw 12000 sc ranks are being alloted to JOSAA
so next i checked CSAB and here i came to know that i have a lot of options to be honest
i am getting various IIITs like
IIIT Kalyani
IIIT Ranchi
IIIT Bhagalpur
IIIT Surat
IIIT Bhopal
IIIT Manipur
IIIT Kottyam
IIIT Dharwad
but after seeing their fees, i stepped back
i am also getting Maths and computing in BIT Mesra but again fees issue
but when i checked for NITs
i saw NIT Durgapur Biotech was closed for SC other state at like 2 lakh 20 thousand rank but sadly i havent seen any home state SC seats are being taken by any
so i think NIT Durgapur is far fetched
the next i saw IIEST Shibpur there i saw in 2025 someone with 225000 rank being SC other state got metallurgy male and another person SC other state got mining at 220000 rank
so i have crl rank of 256000 what are my chances of getting into metallurgy and mining being home state do i have a chance as i saw no one taking SC home state seat
