A creepy proposition from a strange man in Lawrenceville

Just wanted to share an experience I had on Saturday with a potentially dangerous man in the Lawrenceville area. I was cleaning the exterior doors of a commercial building in Lawrenceville off of Hwy 20, when an ethnic man in his 60's pulled up in a in a white Cadillac SUV and asked me to clean his home. He claimed his wife was sick and he needed extra help. What made it weird was that he had no one in the passenger seat but there were two young women in the back seat who he said would be "assisting" me, but they looked incredibly uneasy and would not make eye contact with me.

When I told him I only do commercial work, he got pushy and irritated before finally speeding off. It felt so predatory—why would someone try to hire a total stranger off the side of the road instead of just Googling a local company? My concern is that it could have been a trafficking lure.

I could totally be wrong but would rather be on the safe side and put out the word in case any vulnerable females encounter a similar situation.

Trusting your gut: A weird encounter and a safety check-in

I’m curious to hear how you ladies handle safety when it comes to solo residential jobs. I had a really unsettling encounter a few days ago that I can't stop thinking about.

I was cleaning the exterior doors of a commercial building when a man in a luxury SUV pulled up and asked me to clean his home. He claimed his wife was sick and he needed extra help. What made it weird was that he had two young women in the back seat who he said would be "assisting" me, but they looked incredibly uneasy and didn't even smile.

When I told him I only do commercial work, he got pushy and irritated before finally speeding off. It felt so predatory—why would someone try to hire a total stranger off the side of the road instead of just Googling a local company? My husband is worried it could have been a trafficking lure.

Have any of you felt unsafe working alone for male strangers? What safety measures do you have in place to protect yourselves in this industry?
