Why is Uryu so underrated?
Uryu and TS Ichigo's feat are quite similar in TYBW, and somehow both get downplayed but atleat for TS some fans argue why he lost, or can lose against some because of matchups not because of lack of strength.
But When it comes to Uryu, he doesn't get the benefit of doubt despite being in similar situation as TS, his best feats are ignored and only supposed anti-feats are considered, why?
Ichigo's feat -
- Won against Base Yhwach
- Lost against Base Askin
Uryu's feat
- Won against Senjumaru
- Won against Bankai Renji
- Fought against Almighty Jugram (amped by SKY's reiatsu) for hours (Ichigo also believed that he could rely on Uryu)
I don't get the argument that Renji could have killed Uryu means he is weak. Why are we ignoring that fact that Uryu himself held back.
Renji's bankai didn't even injure Uryu, had Uryu chosen to use AT in base, Renji would have lost right there. Just like TS, Uryu also held back.
TS scaling comes from Yhwach, so Uryu's scaling should come form Senjumaru. Check my post where I proved that Incomplete VS Uryu > Bankai Senjumaru.
It narratively makes sense for Uryu to be that strong, Yhwach verbatim said Uryu posses power can could surpass his own. Almighty Yhwach and VSS Uryu are both stronger than Squad Zero. Doesn't even makes sense for Yhwach to have no one on his team that can even defeat Yama when he himself is transcended.
Even against his fight with Ichigo, both held back, first time Ichigo, second time Uryu. But their stats are relative. TS and Uryu are both kinda similar to Aizen & Yama. Both have relative stats but Ichigo has raw power while Uryu has mix of both power & hax. Ichigo can oneshot Uryu with GJ, same as Yama could do that to Aizen with his Bankai.
So that does not make him a weakling, Uryu's scaling should be in between Squad zero and Ichigo.
But I know, logical points and reasoning is not enough for this sub, and fans need to be spoon fed the info. So here you go-
