New yard - ideal grass?
Hey yall! We’re doing major updates to our backyard that will leave 90% of it just dirt. Planning on getting 2-4 pallets of sod to get the immediate area from the house covered then seeding the rest.
Contractors are building new retaining walls and leaving the yard level dirt on each tier. Their quote for landscaping (sod) was astronomical so we’re planning on doing it ourselves.
What do we need to tell them/ask of them. Leave the dirt level 1.5 inches below the top of the walls?
North central Texas area with high sun and little kids so planning on doing Bermuda.
One retaining wall level will be turned into a garden - is asking them to leave it 2-3 inches below level enough to bring in horse manure and high quality soil?
this is our first ~ yard ~ adventure so any recommendations would be appreciated!
