Chinchilla sometimes falls to the side and can't stand up again
My Chinchilla (~17) sometimes falls to his side and struggles standing up again. If he can't manage on his own I gently push him over by his butt that he is standing again.
He often falls to the side in his sleep but he used to be able to stand up just fine.
I don't know if he would manage to stand up after a bit if I wouldn't help him because after a couple seconds I help him.
Do I need to be worried or is he just old?
Should I stop helping him to see if he can manage on his own?
My mother said him falling and not being able to get up means he gotta be euthanized soon.
I'm leaving for a couple days tomorrow and I'm worried he might fall and nobody can help him. He won't be home alone but his cage is in my room so I'm usually there to watch him all day.
I'm gonna ask everyone to check on him more regularly than usually.
If I have to take him to the vet I can do it on Tuesday the earliest.
