Can I just turn down the Dino food drain and that’ll be enough? I don’t wanna hatch it just for it to die.

I recently got Ragnarok and decided to go and tame a griffin and so I transferred over to Ragnarok, but then I had to go somewhere and turned off ark but when I went back in I got the “make a new character” screen and when I pressed download survivor nothing was there. How can I get my character back? I just beat the broodmother and don’t wanna restart.
