Is a chihuahua a good first dog?

For context I’m a 19 year old girl who wants her first dog. I’ve been going through years of depression and despite getting help I still really want a pet to help me through my hard days. Chihuahuas have been my favourite dog breed since I was little - so I was wondering if I should buy one for my first pet.

I spend 90% of my time at home, and if I’m not home someone else is. I live in Australia- so we have a lot of parks for entertainment. The house itself has no children, and is pretty spacious. No allergies in the family, and I can afford pet insurance.

Is this a good idea?

Do I really need to go to the doctor if I think I have a UTI?

Basically, I have a UTI. My abdomen hurts (specifically around the bladder), I need to pee constantly, it burns a little bit. My urine is fine in colour, and I don't have a fever. Pretty sure it may be just irritation. Do I really need to go to the doctor for this? I am honestly very busy and don't really want to spend any money.

I am really stressed over getting into a grad program (Im in Brisbane, UQ, first year). I would like somewhere high-adrenaline, high-stress, go go go, however I am incredibly scared of not getting a position. I think my grades are pretty good, however, I genuinely don't want to work as an AIN. I also can't leave Brisbane, due to, again very personal circumstances. Also, if I apply for aged care or mental health, can I transition to something like ICU, within a year or two? What matters for grad programs? My uni hasn't really told me anything lol. Thank you!

▲ 0 r/POTS

I'm 19F, and I have been diagnosed with POTS for more than a year now. I am pretty much assymptomatic - maybe sometimes I get a bit lightheaded, but despite having the diagnosable difference, it barely affects me in my daily life - the max is maybe when I'm super super stressed. However, I have started lexapro due to depression (I do not have anxiety and doubt it is anxiety given the fact that, well, I ain't anxious). I have also gotten into running recently. I love love the sport however, I have been getting some intense stabbing chest pain to the left side of my chest accompanied with dizziness, and an extreme shortness of breath during and like 20 min after my run. I am not new to exercise, I've always went on long once since I was pretty much an infant.

My echo and ecg were all normal back last year, hence the pots diagnosis. So, is this just my POTS, or could there be something going on with my heart that wasn't picked up last year? I don't have a regular GP (Im in Australia) I go to, or a cardiologist for that matter.

I, (19F, 57kg, 162cm) am not out of shape by any means. I have always gone on very very long hikes and walks and have always been fine with it. I started running (5km 10km/h pace everyday + strength training) about a week ago - and I have had insane stabbing chest pain to my left every time when I run, along with shortness of breath and feeling dizzy. I have had zero health issues - I'm just really hesitant whether this is me just being a beginner, or is it just normal?

I’m 19F, as healthy as a bloody horse. I started Lexapro two days ago, 2.5mg. I have headaches and nausea, but the weirdest side effects is like a tingling/ nagging chest pain when I exercise. I have never experienced something like this in my life. I feel a bit dizzy and lightheaded but i don’t think it’s related. It sometimes happens out of the blue normally, and I feel a bit short of breath on top of it. Is this normal? I am not taking this for anxiety but only for depression

I am 19F (57kg, 162cm) and have been on a weight loss journey for about a month now. My goal is to be at about 50kg, and I’ve been progressing quite well. I work out twice a day (600cal workouts each) - intense cardio about an hour long. I eat about 1600 cals a day, but I can’t help to feel ravenous all the damn time.

I am on Lexapro 10mg, which I know causes weigh gain. That’s why I’ve been trying so hard to combat the weight gain that will inevitably happen. I also know that not taking medication is not an option, as my depression is something took complete control over my life for more than a year, and I don’t want that to happen again. However, I realised I feel a deep sense of guilt when I eat - it’s not like I feel like I don’t deserve food, I just see food as my enemy. I have not had a proper meal in like at least two weeks, as when I try to I feel like a chud and loser.

Is this normal to feel like this during weight loss?

All the libraries are so cold it’s impossible to study when I’m freezing my tits off. Shivering whilst writing a fuckass assignment adds even more distress to my miserable existence guys. Thank you for my ted talk
