54 [F4M] Looking for meaningful online connection

Would love to have a good, consistent conversation with a mature, emotionally available man. Not into kink talks or pictures. I just want someone who will start and end my day, as well as his, with a nice talk, ideal for those who work from home or are in retirement mode who are into similar interests. I would like to bounce back energy and witty banter if we vibe. Although I still work, I make efforts to reply when I can because I like real connections.
I'm not looking for online hookups, either. Not entertaining married men. My idea of "fun" is within the context of exclusivity, if it will lead to it. (Is that too radical?) I'm trying my luck here, who knows? :D For now, let's stay respectful.

How long does online dating communication last for 50s and beyond?

In this era of easy access to people online through communication portals, the new norm seems to be a hyperactive serial dating behavior online. With the multitude of options I am curious to learn as to how long does constant communication last once you find a real connection considering the ages 50 and over?

Is it just a fleeting pastime talking to people online? Or do real relationships bloom? Sorry if this sounds like a case study, but it is interesting to know how we people over 50 navigate this. I guess we cannot fall in love anymore?... and thus treat online dating like watching a mini-series watching relationships evolve through the decades and be entertained. 😂

Please help me understand.
