Low clearance opener options
I need a new garage door opener and am finding this more difficult than it should be. The existing g opener is a screw drive opener and I just noticed that the rail mount is not attached to the door header, but to the ceiling. There does not appear to be enough room above the springs to attach the bracket.
I'm wondering if I should try and attach the new rail in the same manner from the ceiling. I purchased a chamberlain B4310 belt drive opener. Top of the door comes within about 3.5 inches from the ceiling at the highest point when opening.
Am I better off returning this opener and going with a side mount? Center of shaft is 4" from ceiling.
