Denon DP-57L / 60L / 67L dilemma — servo arm vs classic tonearm
Hi folks,
I am about to buy the real vintage miracle, a Denon DP-576067MLF... So I'm pretty convinced in my choice — until the hyphen starts.
Shortly after I decided for the 57L, read that it's too analytical, sterile, has a thin sound, the arm is a nightmare to get serviced (and you will need to at some point). The 60L on the other hand is a full-bodied analog heavyweight, but prone to showing overly warm tendencies in the vocal range. The best of both worlds would be a DP-67L, with the same problematic tonearm, where the servo can (should/MUST!) be disabled…
Honestly, I found musically all three excellent.
I would appreciate some first-hand reviews, opinions, pros and cons according to your experience.
Which one would you personally keep long term?
Thank you again.
