Currently on maternity leave and have had DQ for at least 2mo since baby was born. Started with pain in my wrist while i was pregnant at night- I would wake up with a super sore wrist and just thought I was sleeping on it weird.

After birth it just got worse from constantly picking up newborn all day and night, changing diapers (button onesies are the worst) and also cooking and washing dishes. I googled “pain in wrist I have a newborn” and DQ aka “mommy wrist” popped up.

I started seeing a chiropractor at about a month and she confirmed it’s DQ and started adjusting my wrist. It hurts like a b*tch when she cracks it but feels a lot better after. It definitely helps but If i don’t go every week it just gets worse again. I can’t not pick up my baby or do things around the house, especially since husband went back to work. The thing is insurance doesn’t cover it and I can’t afford to go as much as I need to. I bought a brace that immobilizes my thumb but it’s so bulky and I feel like I’m hurting my baby when I try to hold him so i usually don’t have it on.

I have to go back to work in a month now and I have a work from home job so typing is a big part of it. I can use talk to type but looking to cure DQ for good preferably without surgery.

What worked for you to get rid of it? What kind of doctor should i see to help?
